Age of Empires 4 Mobile APK – Real-Time Strategy for Android

Age of Empires Mobile brought the franchise back to smartphones in October 2024. TiMi Studios and World’s Edge worked together to make this mobile version of Age of Empires, which is different from the PC version. There are eight civilizations in the game, such as the Romans, the Chinese, the Franks, and the Byzantines.

Each has its own units and bonuses, but the way you play is very different from Age of Empires. The controls are more like those in mobile strategy games like Rise of Kingdoms than those in RTS games.

What You Actually Get

This is mostly a city-building game with some auto-battle parts. You will spend most of your time gathering resources, upgrading buildings, and keeping track of timers. When you deploy troops, they fight automatically, which is different from the original games.

You can collect more than 40 historical heroes, such as Joan of Arc and Julius Caesar, using gacha-style mechanics. Most of the endgame is multiplayer, and alliance warfare is the main focus. Join forces to attack cities and fight for land on a shared map.

The game first downloads 950MB and then installs to 2.3GB after downloading more data. You need Android 5.0 or higher, but Android 8.0 with enough RAM works better.
The graphics in mobile games are great. Weather effects and detailed medieval cities make battles look better. Touch controls that work well on smartphones help, but the small screen can make bigger interactions feel cramped.

Should You Download It?

The Catch: This game is free to play, but it makes a lot of money. There will be a lot of ads for resource packs, premium currency, and battle pass systems. People who leave reviews say that things move slowly without paying. People who say it’s pay-to-win aren’t wrong. The iOS version is the same size and has the same requirements as the iPhone version.

Fans of the strategic depth and historical campaigns in classic Age of Empires may be let down by this. If you like mobile alliance games and the free-to-play model, you can find content.
